I have a few empty sweet/biscuit tins left over from christmas and I decided to use a couple as storage.

My after schoolers came in tonight, spotted a tin of Roses on the play table.
Their eyes lit up when they spotted it, all 4 of them rushed over to the tin and took it in turns to try and get the lid off.

Their little faces dropped when they finaly got the lid off and found all the Happy Land people looking up at them instead of chocolates.

I'm sooooo mean.....

meanest thing i ever did to a child once was on aprils fools day, i gave him an empty boiled egg and when he broke into it to dip his soldiers in i said APRIL FOOL! lol

he cried for about 2 hours because he loved boiled eggs and i hadnt even made him a real one, it was lasagne for lunch.

I keep my felt tip pens in a 'heroes' box - it was handy at the time!
The mindees still look in hope as I get it out every day!

our toddler group has had the same cardboard and plaster cake for 18 years! it gets a fresh coat of paint every now and then, kids are used to it, they blow the candles and get given their card

My Mum used to be a Beaver leader and she used to have a metal cake she used for birthdays. Hx
