    Question Cleaning my iron

    I have burnt something using my iron and have brown marks on the plate how do I get them off without scratching it?

    i just wipe with a cloth/scourer while warm but be very careful, always works for me, i have a stainless steel one though

    Allegedly if you turn it on to medium then rub wax candle across it, then iron it across brown paper or greaseproof paper, it will take the stain off!

    have never tried it....??

    tesco sell some iron cleaning pads they are in seperate packs and they usually have them hanging in the isle where the cleaning products are.

    You can buy an iron cleaner stick - I got one once after melting my new ironing board cover onto my iron!!

    Also, if you warm the iron up slightly you should be able to melt whatever is on there and just wipe it off onto a tea towel or something.
