Default Anyone use a decent online map?

I'm looking for an online map which will calculate the distance of two points 'as the crow flys' and not road distances iyswim.

    Can anyone help? Thanks x

You can change the direction on Google maps by dragging the line to where you want it...

I can only get it to drag to other roads, is that right?

I'm trying to get straight line distances, (its for a school admission appeal and this is how they measure it). We have lots of fields around here so the differences can be massive.
