Default HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY FOR ELECTRICITY?

    Per month?

Mine is £88 a month ..this is without my arrears - I have got behind, as they keep raising prices and not sending out statements frequently enough..so now I am paying £146 a month by DD.
I phoned them and said I can't afford to pay that much a month, and that they should be sending out someone to check my meter more often rather than getting estimated bills every 6 months! it's too much!
They said that I had no choice, if I didn't pay I would be disconnected as this is the 2nd time they have helped me (I cancelled their Direct Debit once when hubby was made redundant as we couldn't afford to pay that week) - I phoned them the next month and re-set up my DD with them and all was fine.

Until I got this statement saying they are putting my prices up as I haven't been paying enough by direct Debit

So how much do you pay each month (not including arrears)?

As I find £88 a month ALOT, when only 2 years ago my bill was £22 a month.

We have a meter also and put £10 a week on so it would work out a little over £40 a month. We use so much as well computer and tv are on all day for a start.

Mine is £90 a month - it's a 4 bed house and there are usually 2 computers on through the day and TVs etc.

Plus the kids are useless at turning things off and once I get little ones here I can't go upstairs and do it.

I have just changed supplier to Eon, not because they are promising to be any cheaper, but because they give Tesco clubcard points and I might as well get those for paying a bill I've got to pay anyway!!

I'm with Southern too. I've just gone back to them after a very short time with British Gas so I'm not sure these prices they have given me are right, probably need to see how it goes over the winter. I'm paying £54 electricity and £68 gas dd per month but I reckon it should be a lot more.

I'm paying £30 pm to Anglian Water too, seems a lot to me when I'm on a meter but you can't change your water supplier.

£178 per month for both gas and electricity.

It was bumped up that high cos when they merged my gas and leccie bills they put the one on as a credit .... 1 year later they discovered it.

Hopefully it'll go down after the winter as I am sure we will be in credit.

I haven't been able to 'shop around' because we were paying back the arrears.

After Ofsted, I plan to look into the market again

    hello
i pay £50 for electricity with british gas i phoned them today to get payment plan set up and they where really good (i've complained about their customer services in the past) we owe them 113 so some of that is to pay back the debt we've got three bedroomed house not as careful with switching things off as we should be.
