    Default Good morning Friday

    Good morning everyone!

I’m on a bit of a go slow this morning as I pinged my back yesterday and it’s very painful. It’s my own fault really. I look after a very large 2 year old and I’m usually much more careful when I lift him. Yesterday I lifted him and twisted while I was still sat on the floor. I felt my back go straight away so knew what I’d done. Luckily I don’t work on a Friday so I can take it easy today - light housework duties to keep me moving and regular coffee breaks to rest

This afternoon we’ve got a food shop being delivered. I’d booked it last week and had actually forgotten all about it till last night when I had an email reminder! I had been thinking I’d have to go to the supermarket today, so it was quite a relief to know I don’t have to now I had time last night to update it with all the bits I was going to get today, so that should keep us going for a while.

Enjoy the rest of your days. Only a few more hours till the weekend can begin

    Good afternoon.

We've had fun playing outside in the icy left over snow. And inside with that 'instant snow' powder that you add water too. We've made a snow scene with snow, ice and penguins. I bought the instant snow some time ago and had never used it before... I'm not sure I like it! It seems very plasticy and sticks to fingers. However, it's great as cement for building with the ice cubes

I've got to do a good shop this weekend. I'm so out of the habit of online shopping I forgot alot of basics in my delivery last week

Mouse .. I hope your back gets better soon .. I find a warm hot water bottle is lovely, but actually an ice pack works better!

Oh Mouse, hope your back gets better soon.

We've been on a big walk this morning and it was lovely. I'm still discovering the area in which I now live so I love going off to explore. I did feel really mean because it meant I wasn't there for DD's scheduled home learning break. DH was, so she wasn't alone. I have stayed in all week (played in the garden) so that she can socialise with us one her breaks, but I really miss my morning walks. I'm in such a better mood for the change of scenery. This afternoon, DD wants to go to a mini woods near us and hide the characters from the gruffalo for mindee to find.

Mindee has developed a habit of deliberately spitting his water down his chin and getting his jumper and vest wet. We constantly have clothes on the radiator. I actually caught him doing it today and so was able speak to him about it, so hopefully that will be nipped in the bud! Too cold for those habits right now!

Can't wait to sleep in tomorrow, I'm so tired - the puppy has needed the loo in the middle of the night several times this week.

    Happy Friday everyone.

No work today for me. Had a hygienist appointment this morning. Was going to walk there using it as my exercise time but thought they might not let me in if my temperature was above normal. By the time I got home and had lunch I’d gone right off the idea of exercise. So I decided to clear lots of leaves from the front garden and prune back the bushes that were overgrown. Felt good to do something and be out in the fresh air. Still waiting to be accepted to offer the funding but I’ll put that on hold till next week now.

Wow Sylvia, you were lucky to get a hygienist appointment. That's one of the first things I'm going to do when life is back to normal. No chance of having one at the moment at my dentist.

I said that to her, she said they all had full PPE and if they close they have to send emergencies to local hospital. So they had agreed to stay open to ease pressure on the hospitals. Temperature check on arrival and hand sanitiser and only 4 people in waiting room. Not allowed in until virtually appointment time either.

Our dentist is only seeing emergency patients and had been like that since lockdown 1 .....DH and I have had our routine check ups cancelled twice now in the last 9 months which is a bit concerning, just this week they have postponed my February appointment and they haven't even given me a new appointment yet just said they will be in touch and DH was told the same in December so there will be a back log to get through when they finally reopen.

    Same here.

Our routine check up appointments keep getting moved back. The latest appointments we’re supposed to be in February but they’ve been cancelled now and no alternative dates given yet.

I had a routine appt booked for end of March 2020 ( previous appt Sept 2019 ) ... it was postponed, postponed and then cancelled. I rang in September to see what/when i might have one ( as DHs had been postponed until the July, and then he had his! ) I was told that my dentist had left, and the surgery were only doing routine appointments on a tuesday and thursday 9-3. And you can't bring anyone with you. NO exceptions! I always go on a monday, as that is the day i don't work! OR, i have been known to take children with me! I was told to phone in January ... I rang a couple of weeks ago to be told that they were surprised i hadn't had an appointment made for me, and that i could be in trouble with NHS for not going in over a year !!!! I've ended up having to take a couple of hours off work to go to the dentist! I have really poor teeth, and go every 6 mths like clockwork ( even though i hate going! ) They are not doing hygienist appts - yet i know full well, that the dentist will tell me i need to see one - they always do !!!!

I feel a bit guilty now as although my original hygienist app back in may was cancelled I’ve had 2 further appointments with her as I go every 3 months and also a dentist appointment. Hopefully my April ones will go ahead too. The dentist practise next door to my one is actually closed though.
