    Default Good morning Tuesday

    Good morning everyone.

Tuesday is the start of my working week, although I’ve only got one child coming today so it’ll be a quiet day. A nice easy to start to the week

Yesterday DH and I ended up going to our local shopping village. It was a spur of the moment thing as neither of us has really been anywhere much since lockdown started. It wasn’t particularly busy but we did wear face coverings in the shops. It was ok for the shops we weren’t in for long, but I struggled to breath in the ones we were in for longer. I learnt I need to get in, buy what I need and get out! DH made the mistake of trying a jacket on in one shop and putting it back on the hanger. The member of staff came rushing over to take it off the rack again and ask him if he was planning on buying it. He was, so she put it behind the counter until he was ready to pay. It’s a good job the staff were on hand to deal with our mistakes but it reminded me of the scene from Monster’s Inc where one of the monsters comes out of a room with a sock on his back

Has anyone get anything exciting planned for today? I think we’ll be mostly in the garden where the toddler can just toddle

    Morning

Goodness ... I'm not ready to go 'proper' shops yet! I'm OK in our 'little shops' locally. DD is going shopping with her friends this week ... I'm not sure they'll distance from each other, but I think they will from other people.

Got 2 here currently ... one asleep and one playing with fuzzy felt with a very silly head on! Taking DD to school and then another little one arriving. Then we're off to feed the ducks and work off some energy!

I am not ready for proper shopping yet, any necessities we need from a shop is well planned for later in the day when things are quieter.

I have 3 this morning who are all happily playing together so I thought I would catch up with some paperwork plus a quick look on the forum. We will be heading off outside in the garden soon.

One of the school children's parents contacted me yesterday as looks like they will be back in September they are the only family I have heard from for a while and to be honest its been lovely not having the older ones and the thought of not having to entertain 5-9 year olds over the summer holidays alongside the little ones is lovely but I have missed the conversations we have.

My two sons(they are both in their 20s) are too I think its the latest trend as there have been two shops opened locally just before lockdown that specialise in cacti and succulents !

Oh Loocyloo I love your phrase “ a very silly head on” it sums up perfectly a type of behaviour and immediately puts me in your room with her and the fuzzy felts and fun.

You were very brave Mouse, friends of ours have said the same thing about breathing and masks. But my oldest has been wearing one constantly in the city and says you do get used to it. Like others I am not ready for the world yet. I had planned to visit B&q as I like their bedding plants, cheap and usually last the course of the summer and I have gaps where some of my seeds didn’t grow as I had planned. My youngest was going to get more fish for our tank - we have just had two lonely Tetra’s all of the lockdown and B&q is next door.....but I just couldn’t, I don’t need the plants enough to brave it. But he has just arrived home with packs of bedding and a new plant for the bathroom ( it died 6 weeks ago). He is so lovely.

I have finally got round to sewing two little sheep onto a cushion in the guest room. I had started knitting arran squares For a charity blanket but the craft group I go to sent their’s off and I hadn’t finished - I am a new slow knitter! So I made it into a cushion and my ex mindee visited In Feb, before lockdown and said it needed a sheep ?! The bedcover I put on for her had sheep on it so I think that was where her idea came from. Well, last week she sent me two little sheep she had knitted - she is 7 now, her mum said she had persevered ( and mum made the square into an oval by blanket stitching the edges). So I am now able to send her a photo and a Thankyou. I am not sure when / if she will able to come again this year though. She usually comes for a few days in the summer holiday. This is a family that I cared for that are now our friends really.

So my afternoon will be planting....if the rain stops.

We are surrounded by sheep in the fields too, hence me giving her a sheep duvet cover. I have had plenty of time to observe them this year- with their lambs and have thoroughly enjoyed it.

The plan this year, was that I'd go and help with lambing at weekends on one farm ... but sadly, that couldn't happen fingers crossed I'll be able to help next year.
