    Default Good morning Wednesday

I was lying in bed this morning listening to the traffic going by. It sounded busy, like any normal Wednesday morning. I guess people are starting to go about their lives again. I hope this doesn’t lead to another spike in cases, but I guess only time will tell. As for me, I’m happy staying in my little bubble for now

I’ve seen on Facebook that people have started applying for their self employed grant. It seems to be a quick and easy process, which is good. Isn’t it typical though. We’ve waited all this time for financial help and now it looks like we’ll be going back to work almost as soon as we receive it! I wonder if the scheme will be extended like the furloughing scheme has been for employees. I do think it would be unfair for the self employed to have had 3 months support while the employed may get 8 months help.

But the highlight of the day is of course, the Great British Sewing Bee. It’s sports week this week so I’m expecting lots of lycra

Have good days all and stay safe

    Morning!

It doesn't sound too busy out here yet ... but i've got to go out this morning to drop bits off for people, and i am expecting the roads to be busier. I am worried that in a couple of weeks we'll see a spike ... due to VE Day celebrations and the changed things we're allowed to do. I'm also worried about people travelling to our area due to the lifting on restrictions to travel ... We've had a relatively low level of infection and death due to C19, and i'm concerned about people bringing it into the area. I'm desperate to head off to my favourite ( or any! ) beach, but as cafes, toilets etc will all be shut, and i suspect alot of people will be there, i'm staying put for the time being. All the local seaside town mayors/councils and i think even MP have said to please stay away!

It doesn't look like many of my minded children are coming back any time soon ... and those that are ... are funded already, so i'll be working more, but actually seeing any increase in income! can't really complain though! I don't really want a house full! I've decided that i'm going to wait to see who is coming/wants to come back, before i decide on my plan. I had removed all my dolls/puppets/dressing up clothes, but as the children i currently have are not interested in them, i have put them back in the playroom ( in boxes ) as they were cluttering up the rest of the house! I may have to remove them again as 'out of sight, out of mind' !!! I think the hardest thing will be some children NOT bringing their own toys ... not that i encourage them to bring toys, but i have a couple who have 'well loved' cuddlies to sleep with ... although they have slept without before whilst out, so maybe we'll just go cold turkey! I have a collection of cuddlies for nap/quiet time and they all frequently go through the wash, so maybe we'll do that! so much to think about!

Take care everyone, have a good day, hope it's not too cold where you are.

    Morning!

Our main road is still quiet at the moment. We have a building site across the road to the side of us where they are building lots of new houses. The noise from it didn't bother us at all - it was up and running before we moved in, so it's all we had ever known. However, when the works came to a halt during lockdown it was absolutely lovely. It will be a shame when it starts up again as I suspect it will soon.

Yesterday, schools of pupils in reception, yr 1, year 6 AND NURSERY were sent a survey to fill in about whether we would be sending our children back on 1st June or not. It seems that the vast majority of people from DDs current school and her old school are sending children back. I'm wondering if this is the picture nationwide? We said we would, but I guess we can always change our minds closer to the time. DH didn't actually want to send her - but if we send her now or wait until September what's the difference? There still wont be a vaccine by then. I guess there is just enough time for a second peak to raise its ugly head, if it is going to, before 1st June.

We have now had three nights of our puppy sleeping downstairs in a crate instead of in our room. We are so rested! As I said, he had started waking us up in the night because he wanted to play, but even when he wasn't trying to wake us up he still did, with his snoring and grunting and dreaming sounds. Do you remember how noisy new born babies are when they sleep?

Always said puppies are as hard work as newborn babies

Dh has said the roads have been getting busier over the last few weeks. One of our major roads has been having a major restructure so they have used the last few weeks to go down to one lane. Dh has started to find another way home because of the sheer amount of traffic on there.

Im going to reseed the garden today hopefully we might have greener grass before mindees come back.

Though i have got to make a curry first
