Good morning Tuesday
Good morning everyone!
Don't read and run today...let's see how many replies we can get!
The question for today is:
when you're indoors, what do you wear on your feet?
I have indoor sliders that I wear all year round, but my feet often get cold in winter. I refuse to wear them with socks, but don't like to wear socks by themselves. Do people still wear slippers? I think I'd find them too casual for when I'm working, but if I'm indoors, does it really matter?

Indoors it was soft leather slider slippers , which looked a little more dressy than fluffy bunnies, but still really comfy or socks. My LO’s also wore slippers or socks, or bare feet, whatever they were most comfortable with or what they did in their own home. We had a child shoe rack for their shoes and they swapped on arrival.
I used to have sliders at all doors to outside for ease of popping on for indoor / outdoor play and quickness of getting out the house.
I still do this, we have three ways of exiting our home now to do jobs so I keep a quick pair of old shoes or boots next to each door as it is so muddy up here!
At the toddler group I am now involved with I have a, yet unspoken about, issue with the toddlers who constantly walkover the baby mat in their boots. Given that this is mainly farming country most wear wellies or boots and walk through farm yards to the car... If they are muddy they take them off on arrival, but some, cleaner, but still outdoor footwear is often kept on. It’s in the village hall so big enough for wheeled vehicles, which they love, so to have no shoes on sometimes causes a safety issue as their little socked toes get run over accidentally.....anybody else have a method of getting around this?
They walk over the mat usually to get to their parent who likely has a baby too...but the mat is new foam tiles that fit together and I brought the tiles home last week to wash....although I know it has been scrubbed, the surface pattern means it still looks a little grubby. We have several baby cotton play mats which I try to encourage the parents to use and cover the larger mat..but then the LO’s just walk over them too!

Lol ... typed a long reply and it's gone!
Morning!
I have suede slippers with solid sole and fluffy inside. Also wear thick socks as my kitchen floor is tiles and cold!
Minded children all wear slippers too.
We're out feeding the ducks ... it's not as warm as it looks!
Can't get my head round Easter yet, although ( hangs head in shame ) I have bought a load of craft bits even though i know i have lots and I'm not even working the week before Easter!

In my old flat it was bare feet for everywhere except the kitchen. I had many styles of slippers over the years which I just kept at the kitchen door. Now, in my new house with lots of freezing tiled floors I wear slippers most of the day. My puppy has chewed my current slippers and so I need a new pair.
I don't know what sliders are - so I'm off to google them now.

I’ve always called them flip flops but my kids keep telling me they’re not called that anymore. They’re now known as sliders or slides

Evening ......We have had a lovely day exploring the local woods...Spring is coming!
I wear slippers or thick cosy socks indoors so do the children. I have tiles on the kitchen and bathroom floors alongside laminate in the playroom. I actually want to change the laminate out but not really sure what do, its been down seen we moved in 12 years ago and has seen better days !

I hope whoever rebranded flip flops as sliders got paid well. A simple name change equates to being trendy and sales
I must admit the children have them for sports. I dont think there is many on their various teams who dont

When did flip flops become sliders ? I missed that. Never heard of them being called sliders and why? Maybe it seems more trendy.

according to DD ... flip flops are the rubbery foam shoes, that have a bit that goes between your big toe and toes, and sliders are a different plastic and have a wide band that goes across your foot that you 'slide' your foot into !

That's right, but what were sliders called before they were sliders?
They've been around forever, but have only recently become known as sliders.

Comfortable flip flops or if they were fancy sandals
