    Default We've exchanged! We're moving!

I am actually in shock! As you know, we had a very tricky buyer and we were convinced that he was either going to pull out last minute or reduce his offer to the point where we would have to pull out.

Anyway, he hasn't. We exchanged earlier than the deadline. We will be moving on October 17th.

I should be elated, but I am so flat and sad. DD is very upset about leaving her lovely friends and we feel awful, but it is better for her in the long run to be in a house instead of a flat, be closer to extended family, be able to get a puppy etc. Anyway, I'm sure I'll cheer up eventually. x

    Fantastic.
    Congratulations
    Brilliant News.

It IS hard. I won't pretend otherwise. As you may remember .... we moved 260 miles away when DD was almost 6 and DS almost 9. We knew nobody, apart from a few people DH worked with. But it has been the best thing, and both my children have thrived.
I think I found it and still find it hardest as I left some very good friends and it takes time to make new friends. ( plus, working by and for myself, means I had no ready made colleagues ) I have made friends, but it is a different type of friendship I would probably have given up minding as it was very 'keep up with the Jones's ' where I lived before... now I couldn't give 2 hoots what anyone else thinks and I have (generally) lovely parents. Sorry, that sounds negative. I don't mean it to. Just to say that some days you will wonder what you've done and why but it WILL be worth it and will be wonderful.

Treat it as an adventure, give yourselves 6 months for it to feel like home. Go and have fun exploring your new areas and find lots of amazing places to go.

    Lots love xx

Yay i only came on to see if there was news.

Last time we moved and we didnt move far i hated it. It wasnt my home and lots of strange emotions. Even though it was a much better house.

I think its because its so exciting and then you exchange and its almost anti climatic. Add in the stress you have had from the buyer its hardly suprising you are a bit flat.

There wont be long till you are thinking of christmas decorations x

Oh Fussy you know me too well! Lots more rooms in this house that will need Christmas decorations!

I've just filled out the school application form for DD and it got me blubbing again. I just pray that she takes to it all like a duck to water. I can cope with my own sadness but as a mum, seeing your child sad is the hardest thing ever. I've got to keep reminding myself of the long term benefits.

Fussy, are you happy in your house now?

    That's great news Maza!

I'd be most excited about Christmas in a new house. When my friend sent me photos of the house she was moving to, all I could think about was the wonderful Christmas tree they could fit in the fab bay window

The packers are in as I type. They are so lovely - they seem to know that it is an emotional time for their clients.

I started getting upset as they were taking DD's room apart and have had my moments throughout the day. Dreading picking DD up from school today. If she is upset it will be so hard.

These last couple of weeks have been so hard. I never anticipated just how emotional it would be. I was taking kalms but then had to get something stronger from the doctor because I was crying 24/7 and wasn't able to function.

Tomorrow is the big day. x
