Do you still send birthday cards?
Birthday cards are so expensive!!! As are stamps!
I know people are cutting down on sending Christmas cards for a variety of reasons, but do you still send birthday cards?
I'm cutting back, but not stopping completely. DD's friend (not a bestie) had a party the other week, but it was a good couple of weeks after her actual birthday, so we just took the present, and not a card to the party. DD makes animation things on the computer instead of cards for my nieces.
I found a birthday card for my BIL this morning but it was £3! It was nothing special. Managed to find a slightly cheaper one that I liked. I have another couple of cards to buy today too.
I used to absolutely love going to the newsagents and picking out cards for people as a child, and I loved receiving them too. I still do get a warm fuzzy feeling when I collect the post and see a few brightly coloured envelopes there, even if it's for people in a different flat!
Do you think birthday cards are becoming a thing of the past?

I still send birthday cards and I love receiving them. For some friends it's the only time we're in touch and write/ include letters/ photos etc. It seems more personal than just sending a text or email.
I tend to buy my cards in bulk, mainly from card factory( 5 for £1), or make my own ... but nothing fancy ... I always have blank cards in stock for minded children to make cards, so I might stick a sticker on the front, or a few buttons or most usually a photo of something that might appeal to receiver!
DD sends endless cards ... seems to be a teenage girl thing! Whereas my 17yr old DS was horrified that I suggested he wrote a card to his best friend of over 17 yrs for his 18th!

Im not a card giver even without posting them.
However seeing my ds2 excitement at a card being delivered made me reconsider so i sent one to his friend of the same age who was very excited to receive it through the post.
It is scary to see the members children grow up. My eldest returns to uni for her 3rd year on sunday
