    Default Saturday 1st December

So who has their tree up?

We have designated next Saturday to do ours. Its a less manic day πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    Are we feeling festive yet?

We don't have our tree up yet. We opened our calendars - for the first time since I was a child I have one for myself. I got my candle holder this morning behind the little door. Tomorrow I start to get my Christmas scented tealights! I love candles, I love Christmas ad I love Christmas scents. I still maintain my loyalty to calendars with just a Christmas picture inside though.

We have put up our stocking garland which contains an idea for a Christmas craft each day. This morning we made snowglobes - gorgeous, but just looked and the snowman inside is floating around - the glue didn't hold him to the lid for more than a couple of hours! Dug out my mulled wine hand cream which I bought as a little gift to myself last Christmas.

Looked for my Christmas tea towels and aprons but couldn't fine them. No doubt they'll turn up when we get the rest of the decorations out in a couple of weeks. During dinner tonight guess what DD and I forced DH to play … yes, Last Christmas! It's such a tradition in our house. DH insisted on ruining it by singing stupid made up words, which has also sadly become a bit of a tradition.

    I LOVE December!

I like the current trend of thinking out of the box about Advent, making things every day, reverse giving theme etc..

BUT....I am in awe of those that do it. I personally feel it’s another thing to add to the (nice) stress of December. As a working mother I would have been tipped over the edge if I had to do anything more than remember to open a door on an advent calendar, December was my super busiest time in work, my children muddled through it with Christmas films mid week and Christmas prep and visiting family at weekends.

Melissa and Doug tree advent on hearth, DH was really happy to choose the first bauble! He also made his first lego model for his advent.
    We miss the children!
Divine chocolate calendars dispatched to sons.
No tree up as we have a real one and it wouldn’t last if we put it up early.
DH and youngest visiting son have been planning putting the lights up outside as the village ones are up now and we are on the edge so it might be nice to add to the atmosphere- we have the same coloured bulbs this year. But it β˜”οΈ all day so only planning happened.

Our village post office ( part time) has a separate post box for Santa letters today. I thought this was a great idea and lovely but DH pointed out that it probably saved the post office workers loads of time sifting out the Santa letters from our post.

Our tree goes up next weekend. I always want to put it up on Advent Sunday (today) and DH doesnt! And as doing the tree is his and the childrens job.. i let them do it. DD is cross because she really wanted to do it yesterday!

I have however, Christmasfied the playroom and the porch and got out al the Christmas activities.
