If the weather is nice, I can go to cricket.

But if the weather is nice, the grandchildren will want me to take them out and I miss cricket.

On the whole, it's probably best if cricket is rained off and then I take them to the cinema without resenting missing cricket.

No plans. We usually avoid travelling on BH weekends. BIL has been staying with us for the past three nights and has just gone home, so we will be looking forward to not having to entertain.

There are a couple of National Trust places near us that have got free entry in a couple of weekends time, and so we will go on some nice little trips out then, so for now just Parkrun, bike rides and gardening I think.

I joined a Book Club at our local library today and so I have to read the book - Mothering Sunday by Graham Swift - anyone read it? I'm only a few pages in but it hasn't grabbed me yet. It's also a bit rude! Not sure how I feel about discussing it with a group of strangers, lol! Not sure what to expect from a book club, but I'm wondering if I would be better suited to one held in a pub than our local library. Hope it's not too serious.

I'm away visiting family and old friends so not that fussed about the weather, although as it entails a fair amount of driving, I'd rather it was dry!

It's been really hot today. DP and his son are laying my new driveway. They won't let me help so I've been making tea and sandwiches as well as painting fences and sowing seeds for next years garden plan

I am dismantling and recreating the 'digging area'- lots of ideas but hoping I will make a decision as I start work as to what to do with the area. Gave oldest the huge pot and bush that masked the area from view for his new garden ..so now have to make it look nice. I have lost the ability to think 'garden only' and not what can I create for the children to enjoy!
The house is up for sale so I don't want to spend money on it.
The mud kitchen went to one of my families this week and that is the last resource....apart from boxes of chosen things for my future grandchildren play that are in the garage.
I went to a friend's for a meal last night and she had exquisitely wrapped Italian chocolates.....I so wanted the wrappers for my craft corner....which of course doesn't exist anymore! We were in Brighton again this week and I had to stop myself from going in my favourite toy shop in the north lanes ...who had a big paper Ladybird and animals in the window - perfect to accompany the latest Ladybird who heard book.....
I really should not come on the forum now as I am no longer a childminder...but since I have always been term time I feel like I am just on holiday...having a big clear out. It is addictive.

The forecast is great so I hope everyone has a relaxing remainder of the bank holiday.....and you get to the cricket and play with grandchildren Bunyip.

Oh floradora. It sounds sad to be getting rid of everything but it will be lovely to hear from you on the forum, telling us about your new found freedom and plans for the future.

Your sons need to hurry up and provide you with some grandchildren!

I'm sure I only carry on childminding so I can keep buying lovely resources. I went to Ikea today and came home with a wooden tray, some cork coasters that are like little dishes and some wooden numbers. I only went to get a mirror for DD's room!

We caused chaos by walking in through the exit and going round the wrong way, totally ignoring the arrows on the floor and the angry glares of shoppers going the right way
