Mouse in the bath!
Don't worry, I'm not about to post inappropriate pictures of me in the bath
One of my boys went into the bathroom last night and found a baby mouse in the bath! We've no idea how it got there and can only assume it's come up through the plughole. Can mice do that? There's no sign of it having been anywhere else - poop in the bath, but nowhere else. We have got a cat, but he wasn't in the house at the time so he didn't bring it in.
Has anyone got any experience or words of advice? I've not seen or heard evidence of any mice anywhere in the house, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's a one-off

Could the cat have brought it in earlier and abandoned it? x

Wow, what a shock. All my plugholes have 'grills' plus the 'U' bend would have water in it. Surely your cat brought it in earlier and maybe thought he needed a wash.

That was my first thought, but my son had been in the shower about an hour before and the cat hadn't been indoors. Plus, I don't think he'd have gone into the bathroom, more likely one of the bedrooms.
It's going to be one of those mysteries we never solve.

I have made sure the plug is in the bath nothing sure I could cope with that
When someone tells you nothing is impossible, tell them to go slam a revolving door

Oh cunning little things..... they can squeeze through the tiniest of spaces. At least it would have been easily caught

They collapse their rib cages i believe so could get through tiny hole. Maybe mummy mouse was carrying baby mouse and lost balance dropping baby mouse in the bath? or if the window was open, sky dived in.other wise no idea how a mouse could get in a bath.

You'll be surprised what a mouse can do!
We had them in my mums house once, we saw it crawl under a closed door, it looked impossible but not a problem to the mouse!
My mum also woke up in the middle of the night to find a mouse crawling up her bedroom curtains!

Well there's been no sign of anything since, although I am constantly checking...and running water down the plughole!
One of the reasons I think it can only have come from the bath plughole is that there was a lot of poop in the bath, but nothing anywhere else in the bathroom (we have a white bathroom suite, so we would have been able to see it). There are no signs of anything having been nibbled or scratched.
I did even wonder if we could have inadvertently carried it in from outside, maybe in the towels from the washing line that have been put away in the bathroom cupboard, but then I'm sure we'd have seen other signs.
I'm just keeping my fingers tightly crossed that it was a lone baby mouse that had lost it's way and was as shocked as we were!
