    Default Assistants

    Hi,

I have two assistants registered with me (my husband and a friend). I am in the process of registering another to take over for an existing assistant in September. Am I right in thinking as long as ice applied for the DBS check this new assistant can start working with me? I can't apply for the EY2 yet as we need to wait on the DBS number first.

I thought so but they cannot be left alone at any time with a child and you cannot increase your numbers because they are there

No need to wait - I currently have an assistant working with me who started last month. I had my inspection a few weeks ago and checked with Mrs O - she said it was fine

Yes they can work with you BUT you cannot leave them unsupervised with children (even for a minute) and you cannot increase your numbers until they have suitability letter from Ofsted
