    Default First Grandchild

I don't know if some of you remember about my first Grandchild? My son and his partner were originally told that the baby had died very early on, then found to still be alive, well it has been a very traumatic pregnancy with both mum and baby struggling, mum has developed diabetes (sp) which is proving very difficult to control despite being on insulin for a while and constantly having to go to the hospital every day. She also has 5 times more water than normal and looks like she is carrying triplets. Any way despite being 5 weeks early baby is due to be born by c section this Thursday I am so excited I can't wait, I can't sleep, baby should be about 6.5lbs and has had steroids so they are not expecting too many problems but special care unit on standby.
I know you will all understand my feelings, I will keep you updated as soon as I know anything.

    Bet you can't wait.

6lb5oz is a really good weight too. My ds was only 4lb1oz yet they gave me the steroids too and he was the most healthy and smallest baby born that day according to the midwifes.

He didn't need any help so I think at 6lb5oz they will be even healthier with the steroids. It is amazing what doctors can do now.

Have a great week and enjoy your grandchild.

IMPORTANT UPDATE SHE IS HERE baby born at 9.39 a.m., weight 7 pounds, big chubby cheeks, bit of blond hair, she was a bit cold when she was born and needed warming up and a bit of oxygen, waiting for a blood test and vitamin injection, but not had to go to special care unit, and demanded something to eat already, that's my girl
