Keep your snow please! Although I love snow, I get really stuck for school runs. Lovely sunny autumn morning here in Kent

Nice and sunny down here. No frost but certainly a nip in the air!

No snow and no frost though a nip in the air. You can keep your snow until 21st December when I finish for Christmas and have no more school runs.

We have frost, sunshine and people panicking that it might snow.

Please let it snow here. I love it, and it annoys the inadequates who can't cope.

I hate the snow because we live at the top of a steep hill and if we go out all the twits that drive plough down the hill and don't let you carry on up when you have the momentum. I don't know what Highway Code they all learned but it wasn't the one I did that said you give way to people driving up a hill.

Once it snows my car does not leave the drive, I walk if I have to go any where.

Don't want the snow thanks, too early, like the cold but not when I can't walk in it.

Poor you. Hope you're ok when it comes.

I think those drivers you mentioned must have the same version of the Highway Code that is used around here. It's the one that says mobile phones must be used whilst driving and that pavements are for reversing onto and blocking with parked cars (CMs with pushchairs therefore have to take their chances in the middle of the highway. )

I really didn't mean your sort of situation when I referred to inadequates. More like those who think everything has to stop the moment the lovely Carol of BBC Breakfast so much as dons her scarf.

My favourite last winter was the parent (not a client, just a mum whose sprog goes to the village school) who phoned me at well-past-bedtime to ask if I thought the school would open in the morning cos she'd seen snow on the weather forecast.

Oh my best one was a few years ago when I had had phone calls at 6.30am from 3 of my four families to say they wouldn't make it up my hill or indeed out of our small town (only way out is up a hill in which ever direction you go!!) so they would spend the day at home with the children. The 4th parent arrived by car at 7.30 having driven up the hill (one of the reasons I stay off the road!!) and gave me his child saying neither he or mum would be in work because they couldn't get to work but he would collect early Well it continued to snow heavily all day and I wondered when this idiot would collect his son. You guessed, normal time This is the Dad who was caught on the M$ doing 120mph! I have no idea what version of the Highway Code he learned, prob the one with the blank pages!
