Default How many sets of uniform do you buy?

DD is starting reception this week and I have bought her two of everything (white blouses, pinafores, cardigans). I don't have a dryer so things will take longer to dry. I'm hoping it will be enough but I'm sure there will be times when I will wish I had bought three sets. How much do you all buy? x

Well I had all boys (all in their 20s now) and they had 3 pairs of trousers and 4 polo shirts and 2 jumpers, I didn't have a tumble drier then either xx

I've got my daughter in reception this week. 6 polo shirts (because in sets of 3) 3 pinafore dresses,3 grey skirts and 4 cardigans (in sets of 2) and 2 jumpers plus i have two summer dresses plus lots of socks.
when it gets colder i will get tights and maybe some trousers for very very cold days.

I don't have a dryer too and never much time for washing so i buy alot but i got mine from sainsburys and they had 25% off too.

shoes are a killer! Clark's ones but worth it i think.

DD is a mucky pup and in foundation they "play" more. We found she needed a change of clothes everyday and still very often did to the end of year two.

I'd see how you go and then pick up more later. If your PTA has a second hand sale, that is always a good place to pick up spares (ours is dead cheap. 50p or £1 for all items). You may be fine with what she has but as pinafores take the hit where muck is concerned you may find she needs another one.

At the end of last term (due to a prolonged cold winter then a hot summer) we had:
    5 Polo Shirts
    2 Pinafores
    2 Skirts
    2 Trousers
    1 Shorts
    3 Summer frocks
    2 Cardies
    1 Jumper

But we accumulated that as needs arose. Luckily it still all fits apart from the trousers so only replaced those and one cardi as it was really shabby.

I have 2 of everything apart from shirts which I have 3 of. I have always found this to be enough after three children. I would see how you get on and purchase more later if you find you need to.

I have the same amount as beachgirl. I usually only wash at the weekend unless the weather is favourable so make sure I have enough for a clean set of clothes each day for a week.
    love Sarah.

Dd has 3 polo shirts, 2 cardis, 2/3 skirts and 2 trousers.
She is going into year 5 now and her clothes don't tend to get too dirty now but when she was in reception she was always coming home dirty so I had more uniform then :-)

There is no way I could only have 2 shirts! I'd have to put a white wash on every day.....and I don't have that much white stuff. If you wash it every day in a mixed wash it'll be grey by end of next week. My kids have 2 of everything, but enough whites to last 2 weeks. We do a white wash each friday.

For my oldest I have 5 of everything - dont buy her anymore as she is growing so fast just now! For my youngest she has enough to wear for about 3 weeks without me having to do a wash! Is in p3 (is 7) and is in the same size clothes as when in p1 (when 5) and as her sister needs new ones all the time I feel bad her not getting new clothes so she gets again! A bit silly on my part tho! Is finally starting to stretch so think she should finally be up a size next time! X
