What age do they start school?

In Wales ours start very young, the term before their 4th birthday. Ds birthday was last week (August 26th - very bad planning - I think he is going to be the youngest in his year). He was 3 last week. He will start school after the Easter holidays. He suffers with speech delay and I'm quite worried about the effect school may have on him as our primary school is welsh speaking as we aren't a welsh speaking family. The speech therapist seems to think it may set him back a little initially but he should be fine in the long run. I know legally he doesn't have to go until he's 5 but I worry about the effect that may have on him too, if all his little friends from pre-school go up to primary and I keep him out. Just wish these decisions didn't have to be made so young, he's still a baby!! (Well, my baby anyway!!)

My friend has 2 children, eldest was born sept 8th and is about to turn 5 and is starting school tomorrow. Youngest was born august 27th and has just turned 4 and is also starting school tomorrow. They are almost a year apart but will be in the same school year. Really really bad planning on her part lol

That must be so strange for her but I would love it! Get it all out the way at once!
