Default Faith in humanity restored (for today)

Walking to school today children had a field day in the fields. We get to the bottom of the field and ds realises his water bottle has fallen out of his bag. So I position myself so I can see him to have a little look well he couldn't find and went to go where I couldn't see him. I shouted him back and a young lad no more than 17 walking past said hes there and pointed just over the dip.

ds appears at this point crying his heart out that he couldn't find it. This lad said was it a spiderman one and I said yes. With this he starts back up the fields. 5 minutes later returns with the water bottle.

One happy son and one pleased Mum.

    We couldn't thank him enough

Glad you got it back - couple of months ago I went out for a walk with mindees in double buggy and one walking, when I got back one in buggy had lost his soft shoe. While children eating lunch I left them with my daughter who is registered as assistant and I drove back round our route looking on pavements for the shoe but couldn't find it. I then decided I would have to walk round again when children had gone home.

About half an hour later there was a knock at door and a man whose house we walk and drive past on a daily basis had found the shoe and brought it back - he said he had found the shoe shortly after he had seen us walk past and had put in on his wall (obviously I was looking at pavement not walls when I drove round), he saw shoe was still there and thought he would bring it up to see if it belonged to one of mine - there aren't many people with children in my estate, mostly retirement bungalows. Lets hope if I ever loose a proper shoe he is there looking out for me!

See there are some lovely people out there, glad you got your juice pot back and the shoe

Not quite the same but while waiting for the bus today with 2 los, 2 girls aged about 18, (I did actually think they were lads) told me there wouldn't be another bus for at least 40 mins and to walk round the corner to the other stop as that one was due.

All I'll say is never judge a book by it's cover!!!

On sunday myself and my family went to York on the park and ride. We'd been to the loo before getting on the bus and my 18yr old left her mobile on the cistern! We were almost in York when she realised, so when the bus stopped I asked the driver how we could contact the ticket office to see if the phone was still there. He called for us and someone had handed the phone in! That has certainly restored my faith in humanity!
