Default Recommend me a washing machine

Totally ot I realise, but my 2nd hand very old Washing machine is dying a slow death and it really needs replacing - it doesn't always take the soap out the drawer and the drum/ seal really smells where it's mouldy not to mention that it sounds like its preparing for take off when it's on!

So as I have never bought a new wm before I was wondering what sort of things I should be looking out for and if anyone has any tips - don't want to buy a dudd but haven't got a huge budget!

Oh no, I'm having a new one delivered today after the old one gave up the ghost! We could only afford a cheap tesco own make (£169) but if I had a choice I would be forking out for a very expensive Miele. They have them in all our local Surestart centres (well the ones that haven't closed down!)

They always wait until the month after Christmas to break down...

Just bought an Indisit one from currys £199 reduced from £329. Excellent and love the digital display, the 15min wash (great for bibs, swimming kit etc!) It even tells you how long your wash cycle has left and beeps when its done (handy for me cos i often forget there's wet washing in the machine and when i get it out its all screwed up!! took 2 days to arrive and free delivery!

I always go with a delay start function, 29min wash and a good spin speed, becoming quite an expert have had about 8 in 30 years,
have 2 at the moment (one in garage) as ds is a plumber/builder and his clothes are horrible to wash so his are in the old one nearly on
last legs, but having 2 is useful after a holiday to get all the washing done quick

My hotpoint is 10 years old, still going strong after washing for a growing family of three kids.
ps It still washes for them occasionally now, although 2 are adults! hth x

We have a nine year old hotpoint washer dryer, still going strong. We have four children and two of those wore cloth nappies full time. Washer is on daily.

Had a servis prior to that which lasted under two years.
Apologies for the random full stops. Phone buttons too small, thumbs too big.

We got fed up of our prev one keep breaking down so asked the tech which one he never gets called out to. His answer was the aqaultis. We have had the washer dryer for four years so far and all we have needed to do is remove fluff from the filter. Hth :-)
