Default What are you doing for Christmas?

We are going away for he first time over Christmas. We are taking our daughter, her husband and our two granddaughters to Wales. We have a lodge with a hot tub. We are all looking forward to it. What's everyone else doing?

OOh lovely. We've had 2 skiing trips at Christmas time and we've had a great time. This year we're staying at home but not sure what we're doing. Not working the whole of the Christmas week so i can spend some quality time with Rose and Alfie. Off skiing in January this year instead.
    love Sarah.

Have never been away at christmas and don't think l would, l feel its a time to be with imediate family (not in-laws etc they can visit before Christmas day) chilling eating and drinking with no pressure to do things at a certain time, have been away, not abroad, for new year several times usually a hotel on the coast.

We can't go away at Christmas as apart from Easter it is a busy time at work for dh. He is Music Director at a Church.

I must say though I can't imagine not having Christmas at home.

We do the best of both - having christmas day at home , then fly off to tenerife for a few days on boxing day.
I would actually love the big family christmas's I hear everyone has - but my family are far spread and since my parents died it just doesn't happen.

    Oh I love Christmas.

We have in the past visited my Mum up north, but it just does not feel right. So the year before last we said we were not going anywhere! We would get up with our kids, open pressies, have a massive breakfast, play with the kids, have dinner, play with the kids, watch films. Then DH and I have a drink at night.

That year MIL was not happy and said we should go and visit her, DH started to wobble and say we "could" go, but I put my foot down and said I was not having my kids have all their presents and be told oh now you have to leave them to see Nanny, I said she had no little kids so she can come here! I won

So now that is what our Christmas is! All about the kiddly winks and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

For the first time EVER we are staying at home just the 3 of us, I can't wait!!

We usually see the inlaws and whilst it's always nice to see them it becomes quite stressful, so we thought we'd chill out at home this year

We are stopping home (we were going down South to family but my mum is going to my younger sisters, so my older sister is coming up here.
My boys don't know, she is going to come up and surprise them by being here when they come out of school.
Our break up late this year - 21st I think

We are doing the same as we do every other year.........stay at home and have everyone come to us!
Its a hectic week, but lovely to see everyone.
My Sister and her daughter arrive on Xmas eve and will stay until the day after boxing day. We will also have my Mum and her partner on boxing day too, My mum in law on the Thursday, and our eldest daughter and her 3 children on the friday.

we never go anywhere at Christmas. DH has to work either Christmas/boxing day, milking the cows, feeding and cleaning out. They don't know it is Christmas - just like they don't know when the clocks change means an early start for him and again in the afternoon.

Kids are teens - DD has a boyfriend now and is talking of maybe being at his family house - nearly 300 miles away hoping he might come here instead - the more the merrier

I have asked sister to come - she is mums carer now mums alzheimers is progressing slowly . I hope they make it as it will mean I have someone to drink wine a laugh with and mum gets a change of scene too.

I don't mind cooking and now we have a dishwasher I am a happy bunny - so are family as before dishwasher came, that was their job!
Happy to be back with the Greenies

I'm afraid I turned Grinch-y after time spent working in retail and public transport, and seeing how a lot of people behave. The magic disappears when you see what Christmas can do to people.
