My son is leaving nursery this year so thought I would bake some cakes or muffins and buy a pretty box to put them in and maybe a book for their little library x

That's a nice idea, would you do for staff and children or just the staff?

I always did. Our school often did a class collection and card so the teacher didn't go on the last day with 30 bunches of flowers and 30 boxes of chocolates!!
I got my children to make a nice thank you card and then bought a little something that they chose...sometimes it was a little obscure but it was from the child

I always do gifts for teachers and TA's at Christmas and end of academic year. Especially for nursery as I appreciate how hard they work and the great things they do for my DD. She's moving up to school this year so I will do something for the teachers and helpers, not sure what though?? I'll ask my DS what he wants to get for his teacher.

They get loads and loads of chocolates so I've always given them something like a pretty pen or pencil or notepad. Nothing expensive.

when my DS left playgroup for school I bought a car mat for the group and we made biscuits which we packaged up prettily for the staff.

school teachers we gave similar - biscuits/truffles/cakes

yes absolutely!! When I was a teacher (secondary) my old HOD told me if I ever got a present I'd failed, he said don't let the kids like you enought to buy you presents

I failed lots!! Wine was always popular I did always prefer the handmade cards though from students.

I used to buy thank you cards and give them a little card made by the children... it's what I liked receiving when I was a teacher.

    Plus wine of course
