Default SORE BUM, I CANT WALK BUT I FEEL GOOOOOD

    Please do not laugh

I have gone and got myself a bike

I have not been on one since I was about 14 so a very long time ago

It took me hours to figure out how to get on the thing never mind ride it

    I have cried with laughter

When I finally did get on it I was rubbish for a while I was wobbly I almost crashed into a bollard .... I forget to use my breaks and have a habit of putting my bad foot down and dragging it to stop myself

I have been out on it twice over the weekend

I think it will help with my weight ( fingers crossed ) but most of all I am hoping it will help with my leg

It is hard going at the moment I have not got much energy in my bad leg and find it a bit hard going but hopefully it will strengthen it.

I am shattered this morning , sore bum and I can hardly walk my legs are like jelly

But hey I am proud of myself for doing this

    Its also great fun

Not sure when the novelty will wear off but for now I am going to enjoy it

    I will keep you posted

Me too got the bilkes out yesterday and cycled about 14 miles and boy does my bum hurt today!!!
My advice? Your butt will adapt!! I know it will because I used to cycle to work everyday - 9 mile round trip and mine was fine then (though did hurt a lot after 42 miles !!)
Keep it up - I'm going to!

I was slightly dubious about what I was going to find on this thread . Glad it is only bike riding

Keep going. It will be worth it. We love our bikes

Get yourself to Tescos Angel, they sell gel saddle things that fit over most saddles!

I started spinning last week so you have my sympathy *john wayne*

I got a bike in 2003 for my birthday and due to MIL being admitted to hospital that day, then dying 4 weeks later followed by FIL dying 6 weeks after that it didn't get used immediately then Mr T, DS & DD all got new bikes for Christmas and the plan was that we would use the bikes when the weather turned better but we then had to spend lots of weekends sorting parents in Laws effects and clearing the house - then we put our house on the market then we moved at the end of August 2004 so never got a chance to have family bike rides our new house is on a main road and nearest cycle track is quite a distance away from the hse which would have meant DD aged 6 having to ride her bike on the road with the rest of us so that was a no no

FF 7 years and I take my brand new never bike out of the garage and cycle 300 yrds up the road turn around and all this short time I let some almost human yelps and screaches as I wabbled up the road - when I got back DS said that I was embarrassing to watch so I promptly put the bike back into the garage and there it stays!! - At least I have been out on mine whereas Mr T's is still in its virgin state. oh and if you think that is bad DD's is in perfect almost never ridden condition and I keep putting off putting it on ebay

As for Spinning it should carry a government health warning - I tried it once in about 1998 - never again - the thoughts of it makes my blood run cold - I think its done me eternal damage I felt as though I was being slowly sawed in two - its definately a huge big NO NO!!!!

So Angel and all those Spinners amongst you - I take my hat off to you.

As far as having a bath Angel could you not get into it while its still very shallow avoid getting your leg wet then hang it over the side of the bath then continue to fill the bath with nice warm water to ease your aching mucsles then you could empty it again before you struggle up to get out. I am trying very hard not to allow myself conjour up images of this scene - it just doesn't seem proper somehow.
    Celest
