Oh flump, i got my first hay fever attack yesterday in years and the only thing i had in the house was the childrens liquid piriton, had to take 3 lots yesterday and this morning i have knocked myself out of ketosis

Does anyone else take something for hay fever?

Will it take 3 days again to get back into it?

    Hi Susan

It is because Piriton has so much sugar in it and that is why you are now out of Ketosis.

Having said that you will probably only be just out so would expect you to be back in within around a day so don't worry too much!

You are better off taking the tablet form......obviously it depends on how bad your hayfever is as to which one you take but Jack has really bad hayfever and he used to take the highest dose of Benedryl (sp?) but have now taken him to allegies clinic and they now give him the equivalent on prescription.

    Thanks Dee,

touch wood no signs of sneezing today so im hoping i can get something from chemist today that is less sugary !!!

Cant believe its came back after all these years, typical

I was going to start having my 200cal meal tonight but think i will test for ketosis tomorrow evening first and decide then, not sure if i am bothered or not as for what i can eat is not very appealing

That's because you have not been on SS for very long.......if you had been on it for months then the meal would seem like a feast

Im off on hols next Sunday, going to have to start introducing food this week but im not looking forward to it

I like seeing the weight coming off but with an all inclusive 2 week holiday that could be tricky

Well done for getting back on the wagon sweetie

I really wouldn't worry about trying to lose weight whilst on holiday after all you are entitled to a good time away. I think the key is just to try to be sensible and agree that you will have treats but that you can't have everything and that you have to make a choice if you see what I mean.

So enjoy yourself....allow yourself the treats and get back on the wagon when you get back home.

    How are things going Susan?

Are you managing to stay in control?

You are now doing what I consider the hardest part and that is trying to control food and portion sizes.

    I hope you are ok

Keep going Susan and have a great holiday

I found it hard to refocus and was worried about not eating properly so stopped and I think that after 3 weeks off I am ready to have another go. You will be able to start eating properly again and enjoying food.
