Mrs O been and gone, she was only here for just over a hour and was lovely. Gave me lots of advice and websites for resources to. So whats next (stupid question probably), can I start advertising now or do I need to wait till my certificate arrives? Do I apply for insurance or wait till i have clients lined up?

That's great, bet you're excited!

You should get your certificate pretty quickly, so no reason why you can't advertise .

I'd get insurance once you have a (paid for) start date for a mindee, from that date. Otherwise if it takes a while, you'll have paid for insurance you don't need and be renewing before you've had a year's worth out of it...

Congratulations, well done!

I got insurance for the first date I would be able to start minding. The reason for this was that the FIS wouldn't pass on my details to parents until I had insurance.

I advertised before I was registered, but I was very clear that I couldn't make any arrangements until after my registration had come through.

Mollymop my CRBS came back end of feb, they only took a week which was nice but been waiting for weeks and weeks for prospects to do there visit.

Very excited and cant wait to start childminding :-).

Yay! Had the call today from prospects inspector, she's on holiday for next 2 weeks (raaaaaah!) so coming on 26th April. It's the school holidays so I hope my kids behave!
