Fingers crossed I'll get the go-ahead, have spent a long time and a fortune getting this far!!
She sounded very nice but I feel terribly unprepared.

You will be fine, just make sure you have the question booklet to refer to in case you get a bit nervous and try to relax
Good luck and let us know how you got on
I can't talk really as I keep having little nightmares about my pre reg and getting all nervous about it. But you will be fine, so many people have reported back about theirs being great and Mrs O was so friendly etc. I always try to remember that they want us to succeed, will give us tips and advice and most of all, they are not there to trip us up. Generally they prefer childminders to nurseries as it's a home based childcare option and they want more of us
Let us know how you get on, and I bet you you will have done well, really well
All fine!! Just got to take some action in the garden.
I didn't need to refer to my preparation book hardly at all and managed to get through it all whilst looking after my attention seeking 4yo!
well done
Glad it went well
Miffy xx
Keep smiling!
well done
what a reliefe, well done, happy for you xx
Well done! I bet that's an amazing feeling!
Thanks, everyone.
Now I'm doing my policies etc and wondering what I'm getting myself into!!
Many congratulations - feels great to get it over and done with and they are so much nicer and more relaxed than you think they are going to be!
well done
Congrats on ur pre reg visit, i have got mine this friday and im so nervous, i have got all my files dorted out and have memorised the 6 stages of development. have u got any tips for me
Congratulations hun, well done xx
had my visit today and it went better than i expected, im so glad that the visit is done as i have been feeling very nervous all week and at one point she did ask me a question and i just got stumped and i then got a bit upset as i thought i had messed up but she reassured me i was doing great. phew just wait for crb forms to come back and then be registered. This forum is great and has helped me loads.
well done you , I was looking out for your post. Dreading mine, hoping that my pre reg goes well. How long was she there for?
Hi anisha
She was here about 2.5 hours. She asked general background info on me, questions about safeguarding children, age related activities, how I would cover the 6 areas of the eyfs, planning, record keeping, basically much of what is in the ofsted preparation book. I didn't need to refer to it but she was happy for me to do so if I wished.
Then we had a look round the house and garden, risk assessments etc, she told me what action needed to be taken and that everything else was fine.
It would help if you can be on your own - I had my 4yo here who wanted all the attention so I had trouble keeping my train of thought.
She was very nice and at this stage they are here to help you set up!
Good luck.
Thanks for your reply, really dreading the visit. I'm sure I'll get stuck on anything she asks me. I now need to think where I can drop off my 4yr old as he can be very inquisitive and I'm sure he'll ask the inspector lots of questions. So glad it all went well for you.
If they do give you an action can you still advertise, or do you have to wait until you have completed the action? (IYSWIM)
She told me then what action was needed (basically make garden safer) and what she suggested I do to make it ok. She told me I would get this in writing and to reply with what I intended to do and this should be done before I take anyone on.
I've done this so am waiting for my registration certificate before I can advertise.
You can let people know you will be starting soon but not do anything official.
