Default the past is catching me up

think ive messed up big time

so stupid of me, thought i could of got awy on my medical form by saying no to the eating disorder part and what treatment i had with it....my dr just rang me fromhis home hes trying to fill out the form but my notes say about this and he cant lie...............POO!

told him i would never expect him to lie and apologised sincerely...well as sincere to the fact that i told porkies and hadnt foergotten just decided id rather not mention it

so its going to go on my record after all

hubby is furious with me as i am too...will this have repercussions?

it was after my elder sister died in 1991 so a while ago now it was something i felt i had control over while the rest of my life went mad, was seeing a child phycologist/psychiatrist/counciler person for about a year...grrr why didnt i just say the truth
am gonna go and cry now

    Hi Jennie,
Please try not to beat yourself up about it.

I'm sure we all have things that've happened through life that we'd rather not have declared to the world. Also, I should think that as its so far in the past, and if you can show you have no related issues at the moment, that it wouldn't have an effect on your current application. Ofsted may want to come out to speak to you about it, but hopefully your doctor will have been able to put it in a way that shows it was way in the past and not an issue now.

Take a deep breath: be kind to yourself .

    best wishes,
    Wendy

It must have been a very difficult time to say the least!

I think you've been very brave to be able to come here and tell everyone.

I'm sure that if it comes up, that you'll have and opportunity to explain and that they will understand x (Big hug!)

I had the same problem,my Dr said he was happy to say it was apart of my past if i assured him i would get help straight away if needed.I told Ofsted myself, everything, they said in the first instance i may need more medical checks on regular basis while childminding but after my pre reg they were happy. Im fine now, past is past. With Ofstead its best if you bring it up first rather than then ask you.It was on my pre reg inspectors laptop and she was going to ask me about it but said my bringing it up first worked in my favour.

Yep be honest,if your not suffering with it at the moment and its in your past and your Dr willing to say its in the past you will be ok. I turned it into something positive at my pre reg,i said that going through that time in my live has givven me a greater understanding of peoples emotional needs, made me more understanding, etc etc all the positive things you have learnt from any Dr or specialist you have seen that have made you a better and stronger person you should highlight and point out how you think these things can help you to be a positive roll model to young children.I will pm my number if you ever want a chat xxx

Only just seen this Jennie but hope you're feeling better today.

I wouldn't worry about it - just answer any questions honestly but they probably won't even query it. As you know, I'm aware of the sad circumstances regarding your sister and any one that knew anything about it would fully understand why you were having such an awful time.

When I collected my form from the doctors he had put on there mild depression. I hadn't put this on my form as I honestly couldn't remember it!! I even phoned the doctors to check they had been looking at the right notes (there's someone else in my town with the same name and they always check my address if I make an appointment!). When they told me the dates I remembered that it had been a bad time in my life culminating in a car accident and I went to the doctors afterwards regarding some pain I was getting. I remember crying whilst there and he had obviously put mild depression - I didn't have any treatment for it and personally just feel it was a run of bad luck!!

Anyway, Ofsted never even mentioned it so it didn't matter that my information didn't fully correspond with the doctors.

I'm sure it will be fine - don't worry x

It's really hard to talk about mental illness, but in this case, I really think it's dealt with like any other illness. I have an eating disorder in my past too, so an hoping this is true. If you'd had a broken leg in your past, it would make you more vulnerable to break your leg again, but you're also more likely to recognise instances where you might break your leg and therefore avoid them. And so it is with eating disorders. Also, kids have all kinds of unhealthy ideas about food these days. Your personal experience of this is bound to be helpful one day. As you say, makes you stronger.
