I think the toolkit may be the NCMA starter pack with all of the paperwork in(contracts etc). Don't know if you get them provided for you up in scotland (we do here in lincolnshire)but if not you can buy them from the NCMA website.

Hope that helps
#edit due to...GRRR link didn't work just takes you to NCMA shop! OK then... once in the shop - look down left hand side in protect contracts and forms then it is Registered Childminder File/Case

I have been given an EYFS Toolkit as I am an accredited childminder. It did not come from the NCMA but from Norfolk County Council. It has info about enabling environments, obs and planning suggestions, short term planning and record keeping.

I've just bought the Registered Childminders toolkit from NCMA - it's a case with contracts, attendance register, accounts book, child record forms, and accident, incident and medication folder and forms. I also bought a fire blanket.
If you want to join NCMA and get your public liability insurance you get a £15.00 discount if you give the membership number of someone who is an existing member (and they get an M&S voucher as well!).
Unfortunately we don't get any funding for it where I am in Norfolk so the £15 discount was very welcome!

SCMA has a start up pack too.
with fire blanket, contracts, some paperwork etc etc
not sure anything up north is called a tool kit but I might be wrong

I first saw this in a Montessori nursery when I did a training course there. The tutor would not let me have one as she said they were only for nurseries. Since then I have been offered 2, one because I am doing the EYFS Certificate which is a year long course and the other one because I am now accredited.

Depending on where you live you should be able to get the NCMA toolkit free once your registration comes through, I got mine earlier this month which comes with accounts book, contracts, accidents/incidents book, attendance record book, the box and dividers plus a fire blanket. it has proven to be invaluable since starting childminding I think its around £60 to buy from NCMA.
I had to complete a surestart form and send it NCMA to get it for free. Ask your DO about it.
over here in ni all u get is contracts, child info sheets the rest u buy ur self with no help or funding

In my area all new childminders get the NCMA toolkit plus one years insurance fire blanket and depending on post code maybe some grant money as well (if in a deprived area)
I believe only some areas get all this as the county council as well as NCMA seem to be involved in the funding of it
