    Default social services

    Morning everyone

I'm STILL awaiting for my social services checks to be done - Ofsted have said there is a backlog in my area and they have promised to chase to try to get things done quicker...agggghhh really frustrating as I've had my clear CRB back for 2 weeks now!! and all else is done too, just waiting on social services....

my question is though, what does a social services check show? I've never had any involvement with social services or police at all but just to check.....surely I'd know if there was anything untoward on record about me??!! - Hubby says I'm being ridiculous, but I've been waiting soooo long for registration....just don't want anything to go wrong!

thanks guys, sorry I'm being silly!

I thought exactly the same as you. We've never had any involvement with Social Services but then the delay started to play on my mind [had someone made a malicious report against me and SS hadn't followed it up yet?]. Unfortunately SS simply do not class these requests as a priority.

I would ring Ofsted tomorrow and request the contact details for someone in charge at Social Services. Then I would ring SS and tell them my situation, parents waiting, no income etc. It is unreasonable to expect you to wait such a long duration. Keep on at them and they will have to do something.

These things do unfortunately take their time. As Polka Dots has said, give them a ring, it might even jolt them into action

as i am aware the ss checks are to check that any children you have are not known to social services. It will come back clear for you if you know you haven't had any involvement with them. It's just a waiting game now. No harm in you chasing it up yourself aswell. In my experience nagging definatly works!!!
