    Hello,

I'm new here and hopefully will be a new childminder soon. I'm not sure whether i'm posting in the right section or not but thought i'd say Hello

To introduce myself i'm a mum of three older children, one dog, three cats, oh, and a husband and have been a nanny for many years. However, the constant changes i've faced with nannying over the past few years have prompted me to look into childminding I live in a housing association house. I finished a degree in early years education the year before last year which ofsted inform me is more than enough to become a regisitered childminder with them and that I will not need to complete a childminding course. Of course this means i'm being thrown in at the deep end with no real idea on what's involved in becoming a childminder I'm hoping to find some help here and the childcare.co.uk site has been really helpful in providing lots of info

I'm at the beginning of the process, i've applied to ofsted but am waiting for the forms for the dbs's for my family members to be signed so that I can upload them. And obtained permission from my HA to have a childminding business from my home.

I look forwards to chatting with some of you soon

Hello and welcome to the forum

It sounds as if you're very well experienced in childcare, so hopefully it won't take you long to get used to the childminding side of things. It must be so much harder these days as there's not as much support when you're setting up, but you'll find a lot of helpful information on here and a lot of very helpful childminders who can help.

Keep posting and reading and you'll soon get to know everyone
