Default can I regsiter with ICO after the pre-reg visit?

    Hello,

Ofsted contacted me and they will come for the pre-registration visit very soon!
I was just about to register with ICO when I read: "The fee for your registration is £35 for this year."
Doe any of you know whether that means I'll have to pay another £35 in a months time, or is the registration valid for a whole year regardless of when it starts?
And could I wait with registering at ICO until after the pre-registration visit, or will Ofsted expect this to be done already?
Also, what about HMRC, can I register with them after the visit, too?
I'd be very grateful for any replies...
    Thank you!

The ICO cert is valid for a whole year from when you pay. Yes you can get it after your pre-reg, just let the inspector know you are aware of it. I didn't pay for mine until I had my first child start because I wasn't holding any information on children and families until this point.

You can register with HMRC after the visit too.

    Good luck with Ofsted.

Thank you very much Ellisha, that's really good to know!
One thing less to worry about right now...
