    Default Am I missing anything?

I haven't had my phone call yet from Ofsted to book my pre-reg but before I chase them I wanted to make sure I have everything ready. So the last few weeks I've spent pretty much every evening preparing the following:

    1) Policies
    2) Permission Forms
    3) Risk Assessments
    4) Ofsted pre-reg booklet
    5) Getting house ready (Fire blanket up etc)

(I'm getting the starter pack from PACEY with contracts etc via my LA)

Apart from tweaking a couple of things that came up on my risk assessment and revision of the EYFS am I missing anything?

I feel like I am but my brain is hurting from all these late nights lol.

That sounds like all you need. When they call to arrange the visit they will ask you to have all your certificates (course, first aid) ready for her to check and some photo ID, driving license, car insurance, MOT cert ready for her to check.

Hi sammyjo, just wanted to ask about your pacey start up pack via your LA, are they (your LA) providing you this free of charge? Or have I mis-read? Thanks x

Thank you Elisha! Will crack on with my revision!

Hey Mum-of-one, yes luckily I am getting it free because there is only one other childminder in my village I qualified for it because of the shortage of CM's in my area. There was only myself and one other lady on my course that will get it and our trainer had to push for it as our LA (not sure if the same with others) has now stopped giving out any free packs for future courses.

They will ask about safeguarding at the pre-reg so make sure you know what to do in event of an allegation being made against you and signs of abuse - fine to just look over your notes from whatever safeguarding you have done.

    Good luck!

Thank you so much Sing-low! I'm going to call the inspection company tomorrow as I phoned Ofsted Friday as they'd confirmed they had all my docs 3 weeks previous, and they said inspection company had been passed my details last Tuesday but no phone call from them yet!

I had my pre reg two weeks ago and another thing they wanted to see was how I would record accidents and complaints.

I was asked everything in the pre reg booklet in quite a lot of detail but was allowed to read directly from my notes so didn't have to remember it all.
Also needed policies done and risk assessments and she asked me to have the house ready to start childminding as far as safety was concerned.
Asked me about practicalities of eg getting out to school run with 3 toddlers/babies if I was planning on that and how would I get 3 children safely into car to go out as it's parked on road right outside my house.
Didn't manage a couple of the safety things like film on low glass but the film arrived from amazon as she was there and she said she was happy I had identified everything and was actively doing everything. She also specifically checked we had a high bolt on back garden gate making it secure.
Good luck! Main thing was pre reg booklet, look around the house was v quick in comparison

Yours seemed a lot more detailed than mine.

Thank you Alex and Gemma for sharing details of yours. I'm hoping I'll be able to answer everything and my mind wont go blank on the day. I may not have all my risk assessment stuff done as had some window safety restrictors arrive today but my hubby and I are not happy with them as they would be very difficult for an adult to open in an emergency so going to order some different ones.

    Default So relieved!

Well after 4 hours my pre-reg is done and I'm being recommended for a pass! She said I was very knowledgeable and she was very pleased with what she saw. I'm so happy its over but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought and the lady was very nice and chatty.
