Wow that is a lot! Mine cost £25, but I know all DR's charge differently. I've heard of some surgeries charging £100! xx

My GP wanted £88 but as I explained I wasn't working yet and other GP's in the area were only charging £25 he did it for £25. Might be worth asking him to reduce it?!

Mine was £50, I sat with the Dr while he did it - such an easy way of them making £50! I've heard of it being up to £100!

Mine was something odd like £33.50! My surgery said it depended on how much work it was for the doc to read my notes and fill in the form i.e. my medical history is fairly straight forward and uneventful so they didn't charge me any extra and had it ready the next day....

Mine was £100. When I asked doctor they referred me to reception as they said they don't deal with it. Receptionist quoted me £100, said the surgery had always charged that and it would take up to 3 weeks. When I got it back I couldn't believe how much I'd paid for two sentences saying my asthma was well controlled and my last period of sickness at work was due to workplace bulling, and to tick about 6 boxes and stamp. ****** rip off. I think it's disgusting that different surgeries within the NHS can charge different things. I'm clearly in the wrong job. Would love to have been able to charge £100 for any of the masses of paperwork I had to do teaching lol. Still, I won't be paying tax for the next couple of years coz of it.

Mine was free! Can't believe that surgeries are charging their patients that sort of money for a piece of paper!
I took it into my doctors while I was having an appointment and she filled it in there and then. She asked me a few questions, glanced at my notes, stamped and signed it!

No way was that worth anything more than a tenner!

I heard this was on of NCMA's spectacular own-goals. They apparently "campaigned" for a maximum charge of £100 or so, and suddenly all the GP practice managers who'd been charging a tenner realised there was scope to hike the prices.

    Nice one.

£85 here! haven't brought myself to actually pay it yet though- im told that each surgery sets their own prices, and am considering changing surgeries to one where it's free! (also because my current surgery isn't very good :P )

No charge, said it would take up to 3 weeks and it did.

Wasn't concerned and was prepared to pay a charge as Doctors time is precious. Even if they didn't have to fill anything in ( I hadn't been to the docs in 15 years) they still have to take the time to read through everything and time filling in medical declarations is time they cannot see patients.
