Gutted - business name has been taken!

Feeling rather sorry for myself right now, I'd thought up a fab name for my childminding business, got my logo sorted and was just about to buy domain name for website........... then whilst browsing on ***** over lunch I've seen a new childminder within 2 miles of me has set up with practically the same name.

Gutted!!!!!

Sorry there's not much point to this post really, I guess its better that I have noticed this now than a few months down the line.

Now back to the drawing board to think up some names If anyone has any inspiration for things that go well with my name then feel free to chip in!!!

Thanks for the replies, I was going to call myself "anna's little acorns", the other childminder is called "little green acorns".

I don't think it would be a problem to use the name if we weren't so close together - we are under the same childrens centre and in the same postcode area - there aren't that many childminders round here, so I think its a no go now.

As I haven't got my registration yet I don't want this lady perceiving me as a copycat when I do set up IYKWIM - I'm already nervous about starting out, don't want to make any enemies!!!!

Morning!!! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the fabulous suggestions and to tell you that I think I have a new name!!!!

I want to keep it under wraps until I'm registered and website is sorted but promise to share with you all when that time comes.

Just praying no one in the local area has the same idea as me before then - surely I can't be that unlucky!?!?

ooh so exciting!! can't wait to find out what you chose! Best of luck to you - do you know how far of registering you are? If you are quite close it could be worth publicisng your business name to childrens centre or on website so that as soon as you are registered you are known and could have potential parents waiting and also so your name is out there - no one will be able to pre-empt you by stealing the name and you looking like a copy cat iyswim??
You can deal with enquiries by putting them on your waiting list and you can hopefully hit the ground running. That was the hardest thing I found was filling my spaces!
