    Default Registering as self employed

    Hi
    I haven't got my certificate yet and won't start minding until september. when do i register as self employed and if i already do a tax return do i still have to?

    you need to inform HMRC that you are self employed immediately you start earning money as a childminder.

    They will send you a self employed tax return in April along with any employment pages etc.
