Can Anyone Help Please?

I have been trying unsuccessfully all morning to find out if I have to pay Class 2National Insurance contributions. As I am in receipt of Carers Allowance I was under the understanding that two thirds of my income was disregarded, therefore I would be under the £5315. I have rung the National Insurance Contributions office twice today and they have never heard of it.

Please can someone shed some light on this for me - I don't know where else to get advice.

When I stopped the caters allowance I was getting for my son confirmation letter said 'credits to national insurance will no longer apply and you need to pay them yourself' not accurate words but that was the gist. So no you don't need to pay while you qualify and recieve Carers allowance as you are given credits automatically

I had the same response as fifi when I used to receive carer's allowance.

However that was a few years ago so it's always worth checking things haven't changed.

Maybe carers can point you in the right direction
