Maternity Allowance

Just wondering if someone can tell me how long it takes for the forms to be processed once I have sent them off? I need to get my MatB1 form from my midwife and my next appointment isn't for another few weeks, I'm just wondering whether I should phone and ask her to post it to me so I can get the forms sent off ASAP. Don't want to be left with zero income while I wait for it to be sorted!

mine took about 2 weeks to be sorted out - i didn't specify a start date as i wanted to work right up to labour so they sent me a letter saying i will be entittled to £128 per week and to call them when i stopped working - then it was paid almost immediately - about a weeks delay i think.
