    Default about observations advice

    hi everyone

    i have 2 mindees in my care and 1 mindee started this week, my question about the one started this week, he has disabilities due to being 10 weeks prem and i want to know do i write this in my obs book and the other mindee is SEN so do i write this in his book to.

    I probably wouldn't just put - "mindee has learning disabilities", I would put more towards noting what they CAN do at the moment, a sheet on starting points, positives, then maybe making notes such as "X finds these issues challenging, I am planning on doing X with him to help". Also note down any help the parents or you get from other carers/helpers and why they need this help, and what you are doing to support this.

    So it will show you are aware of their needs, but treating them like any other child working at their pace with their own individual needs.
