    Default Felt tipped colouring pens

I have two children who are very heavy into colouring with felt tipped pens. They really do colour the whole page and my supply is drying up fast.

I do ensure they put the lids back on, so they are really just drying up from frequent use.

I have been using crayola, but wondered if there was another brand that anyone recommended, or a good place to get them at an economical price

Schwann stabilo were voted best for longevity, colour / covering / and Eco friendliness / non toxicness.
Theyre on the more expensive side but I've never used anything else and they are the #1 in Austria and Germany. Highly highly recommend!

Oh it was an independent test, with regard to coverage and even drying out when left open they won by miles

I stopped using felts as they dry out and also because the children woud draw on everything including their hands so now they just have crayons or pencils but when I bought felts it was the cheap ones from the pound shop.

I stick to crayola, buy them in bulk from baker Ross. The stabilo ones are really hard to wash off skin and one of my parents complaned about it.

Croyla - I try and buy these when on offer or reduced - they don't last so I have just purchased some from baker ross. Like most the kids seem to just use one colour to cover the hole page.

I use crayola but have noticed they don't last that long. I try and buy when they are reduced but also give the children wax, pencil and glitter crayons so we're not using the felt tips all the time.

I use Berol felt tips. One of the reasons I left my old nursery, was the fact that they refused to buy good felt tips. I only asked for a couple of packs of Berol pens per year, for a room with 45 3-year olds on roll. They only bought those really thin ones that break or dry out within the first two days.

These are great and don't dry up easily even with the lids lost or forgotten. My new boss lets me buy as many as I want!

I rarely use them because the children tend to get pen everywhere. I encourage the older ones to use good colouring pencils. I think their use is becoming a lost art and the effects are much kinder than harsh felt pens.

My two have used Schwann stabilo for a long time for school and I use them for my craft work but I wouldn't give them to mindees, the tips would be damaged in a second.

We use the Berol felts. We originally found them when we were clearing our garage out and since we have had them out the children sit for hours colouring. They havent dried out in the many years they have been in the garage
