A bit of good news for parents and hopefully for childminders as more parents may be able to go back to work.

That would be good. I've had several mums come to me who work 15hours a week. It's always seemed a bit unfair that they couldn't claim anything, when others who only work 1 hour longer can.

Luckily, some employers have increased their hours to 16 to enable them to claim.

I saw it too, at the moment I would take on very part timers or emergency cover or anything, it is so quiet here I am seriously considering if it is worth all the hassle. I love the ones I have but will be down to just one part timer next month and I can't afford to keep that up for long. I am seriously looking for other jobs at the mo, thankfully I was upfront with the one part timer I have when I took her on so she knows that what I want to do is work in school. So if I did get another job I don't think she would be surprised.
