I do a 1hr session with parents (for younger children) then suggest a 2hr followed by a 4 or 5hr before a full day, but really depends on the age of the child & the length of hrs the contract will be for. I only give the one where the parents stay for free then I charge for the rest!

It really depends on the lo.
I like to do at least 2x 1 1/2 hrs with parents present then 2 hrs without and take it from there for individual child. No fee.
I still do the 4 weeks settling period when contract starts, as this ( depending on hrs a child attends) should be enough time for lo to get used to coming to me. And me to get used to lo

I do two sessions (1hr) for free but am seriously thinking of charging as a couple of parents have taken the mick. 1 never turned up and the other one took the first free sessionand then rang in sick for the second on 10mins before they were due.

But I am in a bad mood at the moment as work is very htin on the ground
