    Default Newbie! Pre-Reg Visit Advice

    Hello!
What a fantastic website! So thankful to have found it last week as I have my Pre-Reg visit this Friday!!!!!

Just wondering if any of you had some advice on the following situation that I have been pondering over:
    *
I have lost my toilet downstairs to recent renovations and now only have a toilet upstairs.* With my own children, a*3 year old and 16 month old I usually treck us all upstairs whenever either of us need to and close the bathroom door so we are all in together.
What would Ofsted expect me to do with my children and maybe another 1 and baby (max. scenario)?
Would they be happy for me to trek all the children upstairs?* I could leave a baby in a 'travel cot' which will be placed upstairs for sleeping purposes anyway and the toddlers can stay with me?*

Sorry to waffle on (and my first thread too! One of many I expect!)

    Thanking you in advance

you ratio tbh would only be 1 under 12 months and 2 between 5yrs and 8yrs.
with regards to the baby if asleep in the cot then i would say yes you could leave them to do toilet run , but oother than that you may have to take them all.
    Hope that helps

oooooh! i bit of advise for you both,
when Mrs O asks about behaviour management ,
tell her about a reflextion area and that there is no such thing as naughty / bad behaviour its just poor managment of the childs behaoviour

I asked a similar question when i first started but it was mainly because my mindee started crying every time i left the room...

Anyway, I don't take them upstairs with me. I ensure that they are in the living room which is completely child proofed and where they are safe. I have a stair gate between hallway and living room and i can hear them from upstairs. I always leave the toilet door open (i wondered about this one during my inspection, not sure Mrs O wants to listen to me wee ).

It's all about assessing the risks of different scenario and of course you will have to get to know the children to know if it is safe to leave them for a couple of minutes.

    Good luck

Thanks to all of your replies! I spoke to the Childminder coordinator yesterday too and she said I was panicking and thinking too much about it!!! Well you do don't you! I just want it all to be in order!

Will let you know how it goes.

    Good luck Jo Jo too!
