Default using assistant while taking maternity leave

    Hi,
just wondered if anyone had experience of using an assistant while the childminder was on maternity leave?

I am registered and so is my husband, both as childminders, working together.
I want to take maternity leave when our next child is due. Our soon to be 17 year old daughter is happy for us to register her an an assistant so that she can help us.
She's already had her crb done when she turned 16, so i know thats ok.
We are not bothered about increasing numbers, it will just be to help out with the afterschool mindees. She wont be left alone with the mindees at all.

Will she have to register as my husbands assistant or mine? if she's my assistant, does that mean i'm actually working?

I will be around, I imagine all of the time. But i'm not sure how it will work taking Maternity Leave.

I hope someone can help, because I just cant find anything that links using an assistant while on maternity leave.

    Thanks, Lisa

I would check with Ofsted just to make sure you do it right.
