ours came from toys r us for 7.99, you can order the packs through amazon aswell. You get a pack of powdered food and feed them every 2 days. They are quite fascinating to watch but really thats about it. I think its a bit of a novelty thing really as after a few weeks the kids loose interest. They are worth getting just to see eggs hatch out of a packet!!
they are cute, you can get the larger ones, triops too.
I have had them over the years but never been very successful with them
The children do enjoy watching them though and I might try again!
Ours hatched after 5 days, and began having babies 3 weeks later! They are quite big now and some of them have eggs attached to them. We have had them for about 5 months now.
We got some about a month ago, my two love them, quite ugly things in my opinion though ... our challenge was to keep them alive till DH come home in December .. still along way to go!
we had ours about 6 months
when i was alittle girl there were adverts for these in the Dandy....and i beggd dad to order them.
Well i was one disappointed girl....
THEY DID NOT LOOK LIKE THE PICS ON THE ADVERT!!
i have been scarred ever since!
