    Default when to give notice?

    hi all..

I'm just wondering when you would give notice on a term-time only mindee..
am happy to work with mindee till end of year but don't want to continue
    in sept...

would you give a month's notice now.. meaning when they leave in a month's
    time that is it ..?

or wait till end of term and then say don't want to continue?

I've not handed notice before and would love some advice

I would give notice now as there are people now looking for places in Sept, that way they can also look now.

Depends what you have wriiten in your contract. If you state 4 weeks notice by either party give it now so the parents can start looking for sept.

I would let them know soonest that you plan on no longer having them in the new term. That way they have loads of time to find new care, but get to finish of this term with you, and you don't feel guilty for giving notice on their last day.

Exactly. What does your contract say?

If its a term time only contract the notice period can only be given in term time not in the holidays, any days you are not contracted for can not be used as notice. Most schools break up on july 21st so notice must be given 1 month before that date.
