    Hi,

I have done some ad-hoc childminding whilst waiting to permanently fill my spaces. I would charge a higher than normal hourly rate, and a minimum session fee. I didn't want to be bothered with only working for a couple hours a day, so made my minimum fee be equivalent to four hours. Also, be sure that the parent understands that this is subject to your availability. The great thing about flexible care is that you don't have to hold your place open and miss out on more permanent work, but you do get some work in the interim.

    Good luck!
