santa and his CRB

I run a toddler group in a community hall attached to the school and have just
realised that I have never had my santa CRB !! (usually use the pre school
leaders husband)

So now looking for a kind gent, who will be my santa at the christmas party
and have a CRB ! (might ask the school caretaker)

just a word of warning to anyone else out there....who may be breaking their
terms and conditions of booking !

I hadn't thought of this but thought that as long as people were not in sole charge then it was okay and Santa would certainly be watched by a lot of adults at one time.

We do not allow Santa on a knee anymore

Awww poor Santa!

All those lovely gentlemen of a certain age who have volunteered over the years to wear the famous wellies and scratchy beard can't do it any more.

We stopped having one at Toddler group a few years ago & most of the children had hysterics when he walked in!

Shame though ... we all used to get our turn at sitting on his knee

Hi,

I know this is a serious question and it thoroughly deserves a serious answer, but isn't it an awful indictment of our society that poor old santa has to be subjected to such humility.

I just had to go an google this one though. From what I could gather if you are a 'occasional' santa, rather than a 'regular' one you should be exempt. By this it would mean twice or more in one month (which would exclude all of us who just climb into the red suit and wellies once per year) then as long as you are not left alone with the children there is no problem about a CRB check.

A sensible alternative is to look for someone like a male foster carer or childminder (he he) who is already CRB'd.

Please don't let the 'PC' brigade spoil the magic of Christmas for all our wonderfully wide-eyed little ones.

IAs long as Santa is not left alone with the kids I think he is fine isn't he?
like the thread we had on the catering staff at toddler groups. they dont need to be CRB'd either because they are not left alone with the kids...

why are the kids not allowed on Santa's knee anymore???

Well I think it's to stop perverts from getting their hands on children or from parents accusing Mr Claus of groping or grabbing their child.
I suppose it stops kids weeing on his suit or from a back injury from picking up a heavy child.

It is bizzare.

My DP is registered as my assistant and works nights so he has always done it for our childminding group.

try asking the other parents who attend, they may well have a husband or partner who has been CRBd for some reason (scouts, cubs, football etc) who may be able to do it, or how about minder friends? Their husbands and partners must have been CRBd too.

This country has gone totally crackers with crb's! I had never even thought for 1 second about santa needing 1. It's all wrong!!!

Yes i can see the point to a certain level. But as it is usually a person known to the children who play santa, then what's with the crb's!
All some parent's seem to really care about these day's is MONEY! I feel so sorry for these kids as they are likely to be the ones who will grow up either just like their parent's or will be the ones we wouldn't want kids next to.
