    Default Photocopying receipts!!!!!

Forgot to say, at the meeting I went to the NCMA speakers advised that everyone photocopies all of their receipts because the ink on them fades over the years so by the time the tax office inspects you (apparently they inspect 40% of self-employed people at some point! Scarey!) the information has disappeared.

They say that the tax office has been requesting this for about the last 6 years.

Can you imagine photocopying all of your receipts?

Does anyone do this or has anyone else heard of it?

    I know what they mean.

I was doing my tax return in January and some of the receipts had faded and some weren't even a year old!

Since I only keep receipts for more than £10 anyway, I don't actually have that many...

Oooo think about that! If you don't have to keep receipts for under £10 then what is the point in saying you have to work out food bills to the nearest penny - as every meal would be under £10 so the receipt would be thrown away anyway!

    Gosh I'm a genius tonight!

When i went on the course An evening with the Tax Man (i can think of other men that i would rather spend the evening with!) they did not mention copying receipts, and they told us we could round up the cost for meals.
