    Default what would you buy?

I recently got a grant which I'm trying to spend as wisely as possible. I've got about 100pound left, should I buy a cheap £25 table & buy more resources

or buy a more expensive but nicer table?

It's only for jigsaws/colouring & snacks, other craft stuff we do at the kitchen table.

It's got to go in my living room so needs to look more like a coffee table than children's furniture?

If I bought the cheaper table I would buy some wooden food sets, wooden shopping til & toaster to complete my role play corner aswell.

i actually prefer the look of the cheaper table, more children could stand and even sit round it than the other one as its got solid ends

I had a large pine table which is very sturdy and my husband cut the legs down so children can either sit at it on little chairs or stand (which the 2/3
year old do) I have waxed it so it's great as a coffee table at weekend
with a vase of flowers on and in the week I can get about 8 children around it
and we can also fit lots of jigswas on it.

Even if its is 2nd hand, we stripped this one down to the lovely wood.

just found this one on ebay item no 290334440638

Might be good as it folds down when we don't need to use it. Just wondering how strong & sturdy it is though.

just had a look. its looks really nice and solid too! you could slip it under your sofa at weekend if not used.Good price as well. Only prob is that it may not look as nice as a coffee table.

I like this one but do wonder about how sturdy it will be with kids leaning on it. I also wonder about whether you will get bored of keep folding it away.

I like the Argos one and think it will function well as both a coffee table and kids table.

After reading all of your other replies and my own personal experience, I would go for the argos table. Looks good, easily cleaned, right height and size. And you will have some change to get some other stuff.
