link isnt working but I used to have these in a nursery I worked at.
they are a good idea but kinda restricts the children to be independant.
they aid the cutting skill that can also be done with an adult sitting next to a child holding scissors to deomnstrate the action so the child can copy.
i would consider investing in some if I had a child with no coordination skills or lack of fine motor skills due to a disability but not for general use.
this is only my opinion though.

Thanks for the link I have never seen these before, i have ordered a pair of the ebay ones, because i am a 'you never know when they may come in handy' kind of hoarder!
don't forget to get some left handed ones as well for inclusion
I find the sprung loaded ones useful for children who are getting frustrated.
